Biography
Andrew was picked up be Geelong with the 7th pick of the 2002 National Draft. He made his AFL debut in 2004, playing 13 games and receiving a Rising Star Nomination. After starting his career up forward a move to the midfield midway through the 2006 season was the catalyst for Andrew to show his true potential as a player.
In 2007 Andrew played 24 out of 25 games including the 2007 premiership. In 2008 Andrew was an All Australian nominee for the first time and was rated as one of Geelongs best players in the 2008 Grand Final. In 2009 Andrew played his 100th game, had 20+ disposals 16 times, was nominated as an All Australian for the second year in a row and played in the 2009 premiership team. In 2010 Andrew played 22 games including 14 games with 20+ possessions and had a career high 53 tackles.
The 2011 season has been nothing but successful for Andrew on a personal basis, regaining his best form as a running half back. He played 22 games of the season, and was one of many important players that helped Geelong defeat Collingwood in the Grand Final.
Andrew has been part of the most successful era in the Geelong Football Club history and has been a key player in a team that is arguably one of the best of all time. At 26 years of age Andrew is coming into his ninth season and is now one of the senior members of the Geelong team. With more time likely to be spent in the midfield in the 2011 season Andrew will again be a vital component to the continued success of the Geelong Football Club.
